Simply Mumbai - 3 : Swachh Navi Mumbai

Swachh means Clean.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Staff does a great job cleaning the streets in Sanpada.
They are usually in sarees with a blue jacket over it. Since winter time is really cold this time, this lady is wearing a scarf and a sweater and doing her job sincerely in the early morning hours.

  1. We need Swachh roads and general public ought to respect Swachhta.
Then, we'll have our Swachh Bharat.
    Nice pic :)

  2. Excellent shot. The process isn't that different here, but crews come out in cars. I watched a crew last week clearing up the remnants of a car accident on the street.

  3. You are right, Anita.
It is a long way to go for Swachh Bharat, one step at a time. Its more about the realisation process - how each of us can make a huge difference, and then people will act as they have learnt and realised to make 'Swachh Bharat'.
